Money well spent, however, you must have wasted a few hundred bucks on the i7 processor. The reason is that because the i7 is for multimedia purpose and not gaming. The latest i5 is more suited for hardcore gaming.

Description

This is my new build, up and fully working finally, it turned out that the RAM configuration specified by ASRock were wrong, i did a bit of mix-and-match with the sticks and got it to post.

It turns out the X79 platform is very picky with RAM placement and settings.

What's inside:

RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws Z 16gb 1600mhz 9-9-9-24
Motherboard: ASRock X79 Extreme9 (The OC King)
OD: Samsung Blu-ray w/Lightscribe
GPU: MSI GTX560 Ti "Hawk" w/ TF-III
Cooler: CoolerMaster X6
PSU: OCZ Fatal1ty 750w
NIC: TP_Link 300mb/s W-N Card
CPU: Intel Core i7-3820 3.6ghz
OS: Windows 7 Professional 64bit

Sorry for the bad image quality, it's only a 10.2MP Samsung
