hmm, I am not sure if I undestood you clearly. If you mean about the analog vibration, yes there is no vibration. The 8-directional movement is standard for the 3D platformers, the game isn't a racing simulator anyway...

Thanks for sharing your thought on the game. Well.. the game supports joystick/gamepad. You can also use the left analog stick for movement. May be some kind of problem with your gamepad? The game has been tested with many types of joystick/gamepads.

yep, this has been already suggested by other people as well. However adding such a thing to the game is a quite effort and if we decide to do it we may run a Kickstarter for it.

we looked into this. The problem is the way the joystick input is being acquired by the Direct Input State. Unfortunately this is a bug with DirectX itself, which cannot be fixed for fullscreen mode. Many games engines fix this kind of a problem creating DirectInput wrappers, i.e. workaround. This is a third party minor bug and we decided to not fix it.

We had in mind actually all the good 3D platform games from the PS1 era while developing Deo. We wanted to bring back the good old gameplay via rich input - three running speeds, small and big jump(via the accelerate button), gliding, two fire modes(on the fire button held down), camera zoom and rotate.

If you alt+tab while playing the joystick/gamepad input can be lost. Once started don't minimize the game with Alt+Tab and it will be stable to play it a week if you wish.

The problem with trigger buttons is that Deo treats them like axis and not buttons. This is a common problem for many games. We will looks into this. Anyway a solution for this may be using software like Joy2Key or XPadder. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

yes, that's right, you can't remap the left/right stick of the gamepad. You can only remap the buttons from your gamepad. The left stick is hardcoded for movement, so you have to use the D-pad to map the first four actions(move left / right / forward / backward) and proceed to the next.
Once started with binding the keys you have to finish the process for all the actions, so even If you mess up the bindings assign whatever buttons you want just to finish the process and then start it again.

The "accelerate" button can be used for bigger jump and faster running, i.e. while holding it you will jump higher and move faster. In the beginning it may be difficult to get used but once you advance in game you will see how handy it can be. Another unique feature is the fire button. If you hold it down you form a big fireball in your hand. On release you throw it. About the jump button - nothing so unique - while pressed on the ground you jump, if you are in the air you start gliding, on released - you fall.

hmm, the first key you are asked to enter is for "move left". If you press a key from the keyboard a "keyboard mapping" is started. If you press a key from your controller a "joystick mapping" is started. Don't minimize the game once started, because you may lose your joystick input. Close the game, connect your controller to your PC, start the game again and you should be able to use your controller. If you can play with your Xbox360 controller in game you should be able to start a key remapping for it as well.

Please go to OPTIONS. Under "resolution" you can switch to your preferred resolution(the game detects all the resolutions supported by your VGA). Set your controls using "set controls" from OPTIONS. The controls are set to default each time you start a new game.

At first glance the game may seem very reminiscent to Spyro, but the gameplay is very different. In Deo you have a unique input model, characters and obstacles and this combined with the game difficulty(which can be compared more the the Crash Bandicoot games) form Deo's unique game experience.

Hello TheNate,
Thanks for letting me know what you think about the price of the game. Anyway I just want to tell that we put a lot of work and three years development time to make this game happen. Coding and modelling such a game is quite an effort. For that time we could make five or six smaller 2D games, which usually cost $4-5. However if you compare this game to other other new 3D games in the same class you will see that this is a reasonable price.

well I have designed Deo... don't really see what's wrong with it... But if I had the chance to redesign him I wouldn't change a thing. Thanks anyway.
