Thank you very much for correcting me Kira! My bad, I just double-checked if I could download the mod and I managed perfectly fine. I'll delete what I said on my original comment.

In my opinion, there's potential value to be found in uploading old, or outdated mods like "A Rose In The Dark". While this specific mod was of low-ish overall quality, the way that Red Line Games formatted their scripts or notes, they way they chose to tell a story, the custom intro menu screen they made, the way they played around with known songs and whatnot could still be of use and inspiration to future mod developers. You can never know. One can hope, right?

Still waiting for this to be released! I know you won't let us down!

Hey Swankest! What a truly amazing project... Since you've already listed "Belphegor" and Logan's "In Memory", here's some more that are hard to come by nowadays:

If anyone has any of the afore mentioned, please, take some of your time to upload them. I am not 100% sure on this, but I might still have "A Rose In The Dark" somewhere. If that's the case, I'll upload it here.

As of the 11th of May 2020, I managed a work-around "fix" (at least for the Steam version) to replay this mod! I am posting it here in case I can help out anyone else:

1. Extract the downloaded content so that the folder named "cycles_files" is placed in your Amnesia root folder, like so:

2. Open the "cycles_files" folder, and run the LAUNCHER (NOT the "cycles_base" application). It will ask you to download some missing .dll files. This is the list of the missing .dlls that I was asked to download:

^ Do that, and place them inside the "cycles_files" folder, like so:

3. Repair/Fix all of your Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables (do NOT uninstall/reinstall stuff, there's no need). You can do this by opening the Control Panel -> Uninstall a program -> and then right clicking on them and selecting "Change", and then "Repair". Once you have successfully repaired them, restart your computer for the fixes to take place.

4. Through Steam, validate/repair your Amnesia files. This shouldn't take long. Once the files have been successfully repaired, move to step 5.

5. Go back to the Amnesia directory and open the "cycles_files" folder. Then run the LAUNCHER once again (as before, NOT the "cycles_base" application) and voilà! Enjoy! You do not need to open Steam in order to run this, and you cannot run it from Steam.

This worked for me, and I sincerely hope it will work out for anyone else who tries this. Special thanks to both Umbakarna and KiraImmortal for helping me out!

Looks like an amazing mod! I just wish this was out during the very first time I played through Amnesia. It could have enhanced my immersion more.

Well I don't know anything about game engines sadly so I can't really provide an opinion on that, but it would in theory open more doors for you.

Let me start off by saying that I feel incredibly sorry about all the ill things that have befallen you in the span of these 2 years. The death of a loved one is never an easy matter, but things do get better with time.

I would personally love to see you back in Amnesia (as I am sure of a lot of other people would, also) just to experience first hand your new ideas and experiences, and get to play ALND 3, Guppy and ALND 1 remade. However, trust me when I say that your fans will understand if you need more time for yourself.

What I would personally advise you is to not rush things, and when it comes to Amnesia just progress in the way that you feel like. That's pretty much everything I wanted to say at this point.

There are 3 buttons, and all of them are on the same floor. One is inside a Desk, one is behind the Painting right next to the Mechanical Door, and the last one is behind some books in one of the bookshelves. The way you are supposed to do this is that you firstly activate the switch on the Desk, then the one behind the books, and lastly the one behind the Painting.

After rewatching your own Testificate guide on YouTube and pausing it at 21:42, I now clearly see that this was obviously my fault for missing that hint. I will make sure to edit that part in my review, since apparently it's not right at all. Now that I'm thinking about this, this might even change the rating I gave to your mod.

Needless to say, I also watched the rest of your YouTube videos and saw all the new, crazy ideas you could implement to the game! They are all amazing, and I hope you will continue making more custom stories in the future!

It looks like a very fun and entertaining mod! :) However, I am experiencing a weird bug - I basically cannot save the game. If I do save and try to load the save file, then the mod crashes and this message appears:

Amnesia.exe caused an EXCEPTION_INT_DIVIDE_BY_ZERO in module Amnesia.exe at 0023:0040FEC4

Is this a problem on my end? If yes, is there anything I can do to fix it?

Looks good. However, I won't be playing this until an English version of it comes out. I know you say that notes and such are not actually necessary, but playing an Amnesia mod without reading or understand its story... For me, this is like drinking tea without being allowed to add sugar or honey into it (as I am used to) and instead being forced to drink what I would deem as "colored boiled water".

Exactly. It's these dudes I'm talking about. They trigger me SO MUCH, I swear. And the funniest thing is that as of right now, I haven't even released any kind of content of my own.

6. Not liking the mod for whatever reason, and flaming its developer.

I believe you'd normally have to be a special kind of retard to do this, yet there are plenty of those people on ModDB (hello pepala! xDDD). Not liking a mod is fine. Not considering that you have 0 valid reason to hate on its developer when he tried to provide you with some free, extra content, however, is not. It's not only that it isn't ok, it's stupid, childish, senseless, and retarded. I wish we could actually mass-report idiots like this so that the mods themselves would get real, valid criticism out of their work. Maybe this can encourage someone to create more fun content.
