Last night I did something I was not proud of... well... maybe a little bit. Grenade Wang is a game inspired by Skate Man: Intense Rescue, made in 3 hours, documented in this livestream (little bit of Mute Ketchup for the first 10 mins though).

After seeing that video I thought, "why not make my own shit game".

An ulterior motive was to try out Unity 5 and get to grips with any changes, but in reality I just wanted to make something quick and crap with free stuff from the Asset store. Relieve some stress and do something cathartic.

In the process of Live-streaming it I got a whole 5 viewers. Some of which actually talked in chat! We had a bit of banter and a bit of a Q&A and it turned into an impromptu tutorial session.

A few things bugged me about Unity 5. Though mostly it was something to do with the UnityVS tools. VS seemed to think my files had been changed by another programme whenever I saved (and came up with that annoying popup), and my muscle memory saves after every line of code. There was also the random loss of intellisense. There was also a point where my materials seemed to lose lighting (my bright yellow stadium went pitch black).

Otherwise it went fine. There were no editor crashes, everything seemed to run okay. There's enough different in the code to make me not want to upgrade any of my old projects though, so Tosh will be staying in Unity 4.6 for the time being. And with that, hopefully I'll have something resembling a playable game by the beginning of May.
