Researching...

GDGeniusEnjin Blog

Today is a day for researching! Which design pattern(s) are best to follow for this game? I've only actually used a Singleton Class Structure before. The point of this project is to make it the most efficient and absolute best it can be so research on this matter is very important. If I choose the wrong pattern here in the beginning it could mean a lot of recoding later and that's just unacceptable right? Lots of pressure on this one very basic decision. It's one I think a lot of beginning programmers don't think about. Off to go read!!

So Today (well yesterday) marks my first day of work on Grabbots //Reload. If you don't know me personally you may be thinking:
"GD why is it called Grabbots//Reload? That makes it sound like a sequel or at the very least a reboot"

Well my friends that's because it is! The original Grabbots was made in just ten short weeks from Document to playable game with a team of three students including myself. It was a fun game but it lacked the polish and some extra play options that I had hoped to include. Due to a hectic school schedule at the time I was unable to make the changes necessary to make it what I would consider a ready-for-gold project.
Now that I have more time on my hands I have decided to revisit this game concept with the new knowledge I have received during my education at the International Academy of Design and Technology (shameless plug).

I hope to be able to announce a development team here in the next week!
Please look forward to it,
GD
