Our source - the very old print identified that flag as a flag of Burgundy. We will check and replace if this was wrong.

The question was why we don't have the East India Co flag btw.

The story will be player driven. So theoretically, if organized group of players, who sail under VOC flag, will decide to capture ports in the Caribbean they will be able to do so (this will be very hard though) if they are willing to face the wrath of Dutch enemies and their allies.

some conditions will apply of course.

would be awesome if you link flags of those admiralties - or info on where we can read more about them. we might add them to the game as NPC organizations.

well honestly no date yet. such games are never finished as they develop with players
but having said that..

currently we are focused on tuning combat
after that crew, upgrades and open world will be done.
we want to start pre-orders with early access within 2 months

Well its not a pirate game per se.
We will of course have players who chose privateering as their life choice.
But being a real pirate would be very very hard. You wont be able to enter national ports, you can get arrested and put into jail by real players (pirate hunters). You most likely wont have access to deep water dockyards. But of course.. Yarr!
