Yes it is smart. is it smart to rip a hl2 texture and post it up on the front page of moddb as part of a ut2k4 mod? No.
if it's such a small deal then why not create a crate texture from scratch, thus avoiding any complaints by unintelligent
apes such as myself who happen to know better than to think that its allright to rip a texture as long as its from a
screenshot rather than the original file.
Theft is theft, wether you think it's allright to commit it or not.

And a good texture artist wouldn't steal at all, a good texture artist would make his own textures.
