I would just like to say thank you for listing platform support when you list the games. Freedom Fridays are fun, but it was always annoying to have to look in on the pages to find out which ones I could actually play as exclusively a Linux gamer. Now I get all the Freedom Friday goodness without any trouble at all.

You appear to have misunderstood, so I probably shouldn't have wandered so far in my description. Windows 98SE is the newest version of Windows I own a copy of it, but I don't actually use it. It's not installed on anything right now. Short of a VM, I don't think I *could* run it on any machine I have. The drivers aren't generally available.

That's why I said I could only play one of the announced games. I'm a Debian user, personally. Dungeon Hearts runs under Linux, and is the only game in the bundle I can play (though they did say another Linux game was coming).

That's also the reason I bought the bundle. Indie Royale is strongly associated with Desura. Desura came to my platform long before Valve realized they should, and I still feel I owe them for that. Therefore, I buy games in Desura where I can and also buy any Indie Royale that has at least one Linux game (or try to, anyway -- I know of one I missed because I put it off too long).

Wow, people complaining about not being able to play half the games because they don't like Steam make me feel a bit foolish.

Not owning a copy of Windows newer than 98SE or any version of MacOS, I can only play one of the announced games (and one more TBA, so it may or may not be worth playing). I still purchased, despite the fact that I could get the one game I know I can play cheaper by purchasing it separately. I like what they're doing, in general, so I have a policy of getting a bundle when they come out provided there is at least one Linux game included.

They're a nice bunch. They'd be giving us access on Desura if the developers let them.

Will Linux builds of 2.4 be arriving on Desura, or do we need to go to the main site?

I like the priority menu except for a few bits that don't work well IMHO. For example, I would like to set a high priority for butchering that produces food materials, but a lower priority (below item making) for butchering for bones, since the flow tends to go better if the consuming processes are higher priority than the consuming processes and I can't afford to have item making above baking.

Of course, I'd also like an option to have the tasks chosen either round robbin or with a weak priority queue (weighted so that higher priority tasks that need done have a higher likelihood of being chosen each time a townie needs to decide what to do next), since either of these should help avoid task starvation.

Then again, having to step in every few minutes to ensure everything gets some time to be worked on results in a great deal of YASD when I drop the ball, which yeilds fun stories to share between friends. I suppose there's a tradeoff in different sources of fun, there.

Anyhow, I don't think any of us should be too hard on it because it's still crazy fun and getting better.

They've been putting out builds on their website. Sadly, the ones I tested were horribly broken and useless under Linux64, so I can't really say much more than that since I don't have the time to look through the archive and try to fix it myself.

My understanding is that they work great under Windows, though, so, if you have a copy of that somewhere, they should definitely be worth getting.

I purchased the new bundle to get O.S.T. As an exclusively linux-using gamer, I get no further benefit from this pack. Unless one of my friends wants my copy, I suppose.

Either way, here's hoping for Linux games in the next one.

Sorry if any of that was stating the obvious, but this is already so much fun that the few annoyances I do run into really stick out. I've already lost many a night that I just had to pop in on one of my towns to see if there was a quick job I could do. Suddenly, it's far later than I had imagined and I had much more I needed to do.

Somehow, I just can't bring myself to regret a second of it, though.

I was wondering if the priorities could get a bit more love. One particular thought: I can't put haul vary high because my minions will waste their entire lives hauling every piece of mud they can find, but when they already have something in their hand (such as when just having produced a weapon), I'd much rather they store it in the stockpile than pile everything up around the tables I may need to build expansions for.

Additionally, I think it would be nice to be able to enable something of a round robin scheduler to prevent task starvation. Perhaps even with priorities skewing the tasks toward some fields, but never just allowing any job that needs done to languish until everything else is finished.

Perhaps, as the only one in the town with a brain, I should be micromanaging their behavior more, but I'm a bit lazy.

Anyhow, these are obviously minor qwibbles with an absolutely excellent game that will get even better once the heros start marching in (That is still in the plan, right? I was caught a bit off guard by this release, so I obviously haven't been paying adequate attention.).

Thank you so much for such a brilliant game. I've already got a gift copy waiting to give to someone (a gift copy of the Indie Royale bundle, actually), but I imagine I'm going to be handing out copies of this to others, too. (It's probably going to be PZ all over again. I hope my wallet can take it. It's just so worth it, though.)

Edit:
One more thought is that they should never place anything in a spot already designated for work. If I've already designated a spot for placing a carpentry bench, for example, it seems silly for them to go ahead and place a wooden helmet there. Again, just ideas and suggestions, but it can be annoying at times.

Could you define 'older', please? Seems I have an "Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller" here in my laptop. Until I can afford to replace my main machine, this is it. Steel Storm lags a bit on it, but it runs playably. Is there any hope?

It looks fun, so I'm likely to get it in either case. It's just a question of when.

Looks nice. Planning on putting a Linux64 build up here, or do I have to pull in the debs? Debian can often use Ubuntu debs unmodified, and I can patch up any incompatibility that I notice, so either works. Desura is certainly more convenient, though.

Anyhow, thanks for the great-looking game.

I'd like to add my voice to the chorus asking to make this a game mode, but I'd also like a timeline tht could be used to rewatch the best parts. Both when I'm playing and like this. I don't know if it's actually possible (Everything runs realtime, so an event log might get very long), but it would be great to go back through the timeline and replay everything from whatever mistake killed me onwards.

With NPC or free view and a timeline, I could even make an annotated video detailing all the things that conspired to unjustly kill me like the steak in the stove spontaneousely catching fire after only beling left on full blast all night and all the zeds that were mysteriously attracted to the spontaneous lighting arrangment it caused...

On a more serious note, thanks for all the work you've put into this. It is a true pleasure to play already, and the best is clearly ahead.

Or that they've cracked badly enough that they no longer think the zombalypse is a bad thing...

I think I'd keep a close eye on anyone too cheerful under these circumstances. You never know who might invite the neighbors over for a snack while cheerfully living out their delusions...
