Since the dev doesn't seem to be interested in changing this, does anyone know of a way to disable the soldier's ability to launch grenades? There's a very clear reason why Valve didn't have this enemy behavior in the base game and that's because it totally sucks.

Absolutely love this, since I personally think the damage balancing in the vanilla game was all wonky. Would it be possible to make a version that's compatible with Biomod?

And yes, before you ask, I turned flamethrower effects off. Still happens.

I have a modern up to date PC. You're right, the load times do get better the more you play but it still doesn't explain why GMDX9 doesn't have this issue. Also, I made a new post above, but I'll repeat it here: I have a strange issue whenever someone fires the assault shotgun or plasma rifle, the framerate tanks. Again, this only happens in GMDX10 and not 9 or any other mod.

Okay what is UP with the issues with v10? The regeneration aug turns off instantly even if I have a fully charged energy bar, the game slows to a crawl whenever someone fires the plasma rifle or assault shotgun, and pressing "heal all" only uses one medkit on the health screen. Has this been this broken the whole time? This went out like this?

I have 16gb of RAM so that's not an issue. I disabled precaching and that didn't work either. Like I said before, GMDX9 doesn't have this problem, so I don't know what's up. It's kind of unplayable. These load times can rival that of modern games.

Hi there, I adore GMDX10 for the most part but one thing that does make it a chore to play is the load times. They are bizarrely long. I went back and tried v9 and the load times aren't nearly as long as they are in 10, which is particularly weird since 10 doesn't use the new vision textures or HDTP. What's going on there? Is there any way to reduce the load times?

So this is super great and I feel like it looks way better than the original sprites. Is there any way to remove the fire bullets effects, though? Ever since release I've asked around and poked in the CON code but I haven't been able to figure it out.

Bringing this up again. IS anyone else having the issue of the blood sprites reverting to the old versions rather than the 2007 versions that came with Episode Two? I haven't figured out how to fix this.

I really hope one of the devs reads this, it's a weird glitch and it's kind of making the combat a little bad. I've had this glitch across all versions of mmod.

Weird glitch I've suddenly encountered, MMOD Ep 2 is using the 2004 blood decals instead of the 2007 versions? Why is that?

I'm having this sudden issue where no sourcemods are recognized. I had to reinstall Half Life, the episodes, and mmod and now mmod won't appear in my library. I've tried a bunch of stuff to get steam to recognize it but nothing's working. Any help?

I'd like to make a suggestion; the 357 reload animation is my favorite (also my fav gun!) but I've always been bothered that Gordon never uses a speed loader and just seems to shove the bullets into the cylinder. I KIND of looks like he has one in the mmod animations, but I can't see it. If it's there, it would be cool if it was modified so that we can see it. If not, adding a speed loader would fit in with the more realistic animations the mod has.

Absolutely adore this mod. I've played through HL2, Ep1, Ep2, and Minerva almost 3 times already. You really injected tons of life into one of the best games ever! Be proud!

I only have a few quibbles, very minor:

I think the gravity gun's crosshair is a little distracting. The rest of the crosshairs look great and fit with HL's aesthetic but there's something about the gravity gun's that just feels off. I liked how it was before the 1.2 patch, but it's just a personal thing.

The new crowbar is great with the exception of the swing animations. They seem to lack that little extra bit of oomph, and I think it's specifically the crowbar rebounding off of something. If you look at the original anims, after the crowbar connects with something it will kind of snap back a little.

Being able to toggle the Combine soldier's SMG grenades would be great. The original levels were definitely not designed for that kind of combat and it shows. Being stuck in a hallway and then eating a whole *** grenade feels bad.

Other than those really minor things I can't praise this mod enough. It's so good, and was so worth the wait.

Smoke's mod had the option to modify JC's appearance, that is his clothes which included the coat, shirt, and pants. Would that be something you'd be interested in implementing at some point? Seems like it'd fit with how modular and customizable the GMDX experience is. Also, I remember seeing old preview videos of DX way back in '99 that showed that was a planned feature.

Just finished a playthrough. This is what DX2 should have been; an improvement and expansion on existing design. It's so good! It's very clearly a labor of enormous love. Man, those advanced options sound like it would turn the game into a soul crushing experience.

Yeah, I'm aware. Played through on normal first, then went down the easy. Regardless, reaction times feel a little unfair.

As much as I am loving this, I have to say the AI can be fairly unreasonable much of the time. Their reaction times seem to be a little over the top, and a lot of stealth scenarios are ruined because someone saw me for a split second. Things like that don't feel challenging, they feel frustrating. Realism does not always equal a better gameplay experience.

Silenced sniper rifle still makes unsilenced firing sound. The game recognizes it as silenced however; i,e. it won't alert enemies.

Numerous empty ammo and equipment crates makes me feel like I'm wasting my time opening them. Not the best idea. Other than that, really, I'm loving most of the changes and enhancements.

Walked into a room, got toasted by an enemy hidden behind a wall. From 100 to 0 health in a second. I'm honestly blown away (har har!) by how badly designed this is. Did you guys think, at any point, about how FUN this is supposed to be?

I want to enjoy this, I really, REALLY do, but oh my goodness, it's SO HARD. Why do the enemies do so much damage with one shot? It's far to easy to die, even on the easiest difficulty. It's very...unfun.

Anyone know the song used in the 2010 trailer? It sounds like Ruiner by Nine Inch Nails but it's clearly a remix.
