Hi! Yeah, that's because we really love pixelart and we think games with a (good) pixelart aesthetic still look awesome, even in 2016! Of course we love the anime-style cutscenes as well. We wanted to mix them both together, to create something different than for example "Furious Tom" did. That game looks awesome but we did not want to just copy something like that (especially because the two games have very similar take on violence and gameplay.
