I've just been a bit busy recently, I'll try and get more updates out soon. Knockdowns have been worked on, I've got 3 different 'get up' animations and another for the referee counting. I'm a lot more focused on getting the movement better atm. Going between a wide slow moving stance to a more jogging-like movement to get away from the opponent + pivoting.

No head movement is still a WIP. For eg I'm looking to increase it or decrease it depending on a boxers attributes. The foot movement is being worked on too, so quickly moving out of range like the example you gave could be done.

Yes I agree! I mean I haven't seen wwe2k18 creator but it probably won't be to the same level as that.. realistically. I've got blendshapes to make different facial features, muscle mass, fat, height, skin colour etc using sliders. Maybe it'll be enough. I'll post a video of where I'm up to with it.

Funny you said that. I'm literally writing a boxer creator now, my steam developer license has now been approved so hopefully I can integrate with steam workshop.

Yes he'll involved in terms of splitting up clinches and doing the count after knockdowns. I 'might' allow the referee to stop the fight prematurely, I think it might be annoying to some players.

As realistic as I can get, although I'm one developer so I'm a bit limited. There is a simple chin attribute at the moment, lower chin value = more easier to knock down. If you miss a punch and get countered with a powerful hit, this can result in a knock down. I upload vids to youtube around weekly and post on twitter occasionally (twitter.com/bradpixeldev).

I could implement something like that. I still need to work on some more punching animations, I haven't even implemented a proper uppercut yet. I'll like the idea though, I'll have a look at some ufc 3 footage.

Well there will be differences in movement speed, someone who is heavyweight won't be able to move as fast as a lightweight for example.

Since I've been soley concentrating on the gameplay atm, the career mode is a bit up in the air - anything is possible. I like the idea of having to get the choose if you want to go through a amateur boxing career or not before going professional.

Thanks for the comment. The movement is still a bit of a 'work in progress' at the moment, still trying to get it to be a little bit more realistic or adding "bounce" as you said. I'm still thinking about adding the old damage system back. Thanks!

Sounds like a 'very' deep career mode haha.

Manager mode is quite distant from what I'm developing at the moment, but I could possibly use the fighting engine I'm developing now to use in a future manager game. Giving a visual representation of the fight instead of just lines of text.

I like the ideas though, thanks for sharing them!

That's an interesting idea.
I was originally thinking of limiting the amount of weight classes a fighter can go up or down on. I mean you never see a fighter go from featherweight to heavyweight.

So maybe limiting the stats could be an idea too, for at least the stats like you mentioned. Realistically a boxer can't train their chin, otherwise amir khan would be onto that.

I haven't really started the career mode yet. I'm still deep into developing the actual fight system, but discussions like this are useful for knowing what people want. Thanks!

Since this game is going for realism. The more strength a boxer has, the more visual muscle definition is shown. If the game gets greenlit then early access will be available.
