The only thing I don't like about the controls is how the main menu doens't have Continue as the top option. Simply having it at the top would prevent accidental hitting of New Game, and would allow me to get back into the game more quickly. Getting out of the game is so easy that an accidental hit of Continue is no problem, and with the current system starting a new game is rare, in my experience. I think it would also be a good idea to make it so the cloud reveal gets skipped if the player hits any key, rather than allowing main menu manipulation during the cloud reveal. Preventing blind selection would further reduce the chance of accidentally starting a new game.

Next, back tracking is currently inconvienent, and I think functionality would be better if ESC would backtrack through all menues until you reach the castle screen, where it would then go to the main menu and automatically save. This would keep the escape key in line with the conventions of other games, without adding more controls. The player would still be able to back track using the current method, but have a far faster alternative.

On the matter of interfaces, one thing which occured ot me is the Blacksmith would be far more convienent if the four different items would show their prices besides the names, and with color coding. That way, selecting the item to see the price, to see if an item is purchasable, wouldn't be nescesery, and many redundant clicks could be eliminated. This might also work for the item shop.

P.S. How do I submit heraldry?
P.P.S. Drinking game, mini-game, where you get drunker and the controls gradually get more confused. Goal: take a drink, punch apponent in face, repeat. First to pass out loses.

Thanks for making an interesting fun game. :)

On the matter of lance shattering, based on the current system, my thought is critical hits could always result in a shattered lance (with free replacement). A good chance for particles and slo-mo! I don't recal, but are there bad hits, too? If so, those could result in dropping the lance as you make a strike, to show the hit's weakness. Lastly, I tink I've noticed some hits can penetrate low level shields. What if when those hits are taken they cause the character to lean back and momentarily twist, or slouch in the saddle, and drag the lance, and the same could go for someone hit by a shattered lance?

I love the surprise battles, they've all been fantastic. I like the heraldry customization a lot, but I wish the horse customization were greater. I notice the enemies have horse clothing which fits their heraldry, while I only get stripes.

After armor customization is implemented, which looks amazing, I think it would be great if the horse armor can be customized as well. I don't think it should count toward protection, instead I think it should be a fame modifier. Additionally, I think it would be great if the shield and lance could be customized. I also hope lance shattering is implemented, as it was the main way of scoring points in jousting, besides dismounts.

Lastly, do you need someone to do voices for the intro story and the gate guard?

Wow, the armor crafting system sounds and looks better than anything I've ever seen.

Without a way to layer materials, I'm guessing gold will have the stats of steel, plus a reputation modifier? :)
