Even Desktop Dungeons technically fits into the Berlin Interpretation (though it's technically more of a puzzle game than anything). It doesn't have to be grossly complicated at all to fit into the genre, only follow a majority of the commonly accepted conventions of it. This is also why Cardinal Quest comes up on the Rougebasin wiki as a "Coffebreak roguelike".
I feel that comparing it to Gauntlet and Golden Axe and saying it is arcade-style is much more misleading as it doesn't really have anything in common with them or that type of gameplay.
Liking it so far. Really hoping you'll add a death animation soon though, or at least a place holder. I currently can't tell the difference between when a dwarf dies and when it's a path finding bug and I'm finding that really frustrating.
Seems more like a rouge-like than any of the games the description compairs it to. The Gauntlet comparision makes me think of something more actiony instead of turn-based. Looks fun though, I'll probably buy it once I make some more money. :V
If you manage to hit them it stuns them long enough that you can grab nearby flesh. Flares are better though.
Well I got to one goal.
Does anyone know if there's more than one ending to this?
