Crashes on launch, for me.

First version is done. I'm unfamiliar with the site, so as soon as I can figure out where to upload it it'll be up.

One more hour of working time and I should have the first bin-worthy version of Visual Basic Greenbelt done! Completely unoptimized because when I tried to optimize what I had my brain imploded. I'll work on that another time and for now just focus on getting that first version out. Basic functions are done. I'll be able to finish it up either tonight or over the weekend. W00t?

So maybe 65 different threads isn't the most optimized way to do this. MAYBE a single ticker would be best. Maybe a timer function, you know, so it doesn't freeze up the program the way an infinite loop does.

That issue occurs sometimes- the project was abandoned about six months ago, but I've begun to remake it in Visual Basic. Expect that sometime. I've only been working occasionally, but I've got a basic setup done. That should be less buggy, but will only run on Windows computers, because VB uses .NET framework.

Development stopped on this a while ago, but I've started remaking it in Visual Basic 2013.

Switching to DX7 seems to have fixed the issue. I'm running on an Intel I5 Ivybridge processor, on a military grade MSI motherboard, and I have an AMD 6800 series GPU. I have Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. As for my settings, just set absolutely everything in the Warband settings to the absolute minimum possible to get the same.

I tried with the settings at full, slightly reduced, very reduced, and completely at the minimum. Didn't help at all. It immediately crashes either when I join a server, or when I click to go past the 'server message'/MOTD screen. Load textures on demand was checked.

I tried running both this version and the HD version, it crashed on both. Tried running it using ALL of the suggestions in the 'if you crash' text file. Still crashes. The crash only occurs when I attempt to join a server. I am running 64bit Windows 8, on a fairly powerful PC.

Can't run it. :P
Maybe you should run the compiled version on your computer before you post it for download, instead of running it through the program you use for the code?
Edit: Aha! Problem: Software made by NCH Software has some... issues... With some filetypes...

Or... not...
Should be out relatively soon though. (We've had minimal contact with each other the past few days)

Sorry for a shortage of updates recently; we've been working on something for some friends. :P on, and thanks, kinglarry. :D Eventually, we might send you a beta key (we're just going to give them out to random people to get opinions) when we're ready to send it out to people.

Just a note; At the moment, the game resembles a 'tycoon' game. Perhaps later it won't.
