Only now I notice the camera is doing a bit o fish eye. Forgot to change that too XD. Man I'm terrible. I should just give up

What bothers me here is the shinyness of the hood, but I have a solution to tone that down a reasonable amount, and possibly add a bit of a glossy effect to it that I lost when I changed the materials on it.

The model and texture are looking good, everything is nice except for the headlight area, it's a bit strange looking. I'd say that since it's an action shot you should add in some particle fx to show the snow flying off the two front skiis and around the treads. Have you tried putting a simple cubemap reflection on the hood? All the reference I see of snowmobiles has a decent reflection going on. Mbworld.org

oh, and the snow still has too much blue :P

good stuff man, keep it up!
also, still waiting to see that dune buggy textured :)

I had a lot of particle effects but I REALLY didn't like how they looked. I'll need more time to make those look anything like I want them to, or find tutorials that can maybe lead me in the right direction with them.

I have a map for reflections, but actually didn't even think of putting it on the hood! *Smacks self*

I keep trying to tighten the blue around where the path is. I can do it a bit more, then lighten the blue in the path a bit. I'll try n post those later tonight if I have time.

Also with the particle effects, I tried about 3 different ways to do them, each getting results I didn't like. I planned of having it shooting from the back and along the front behind the skis, then blurring it out in compositing. I kinda got into the mindset to just try and show off the model and not worry about the particles.

If you have any suggestions for places to go when looking for a good way to do these kinds of particles I'd be happy to check it out. Hell I even tried modeling in the dust effects, which seemed to actually be not bad, but rendering-wise, you can probably see where that went.

Description

2 more Test renders. Got another one I'll throw up, tonight or tomorrow, from one of my other projects I'm working on.

There are some obvious shaders I haven't finished with yet (I'm looking at you headlights), but otherwise 'could use some criticism on anything that seems off. The snow seems REALLY BRIGHT to me, but I believe my monitor is brighter then most, even on lower settings. It also sparkles when I move the camera (The snow, not the vampires):D

Anyways GO!
