I am not as harsh on Colonial Marines as most, but I will say it certainly wasn't all it could have been, and is far from being a game I ever intend to return to. All the changes to the lighting, weapons, time to kill make for a genuinely tense experience.
I'm looking forward to when my friend gets online, so we can take another misguided trip to LV-426 to kick some ***! Oorah!
Thing is though, EA own the rights. As such they govern what they think will harm their IP business wise. With the DK MMO on the horizon I doubt they are going to see this project as anything but harmful to their IP.
Anyway we could spend a long time wondering what a legal depart in a massive gaming company thinks like, but when you get right down to it EA is just a place full of people who really don't want to lose their jobs.
Anyway I wish you guys (hey kyle :P) still working on this project the best. I'm not as big a fan of DK as I used to be, so I guess I'm quite glad to see you are moving a bit away from it. Hope you can make something worthy of the likes of Bullfrog with you new found freedom. :)
I'm pretty sure I read that Ork technology works only because they believe it does. So by that logic tech from a god they don't believe/know exists would be pretty useless, right?

Yeah, we have had our fair share of "oh gawd... This isn't going to work moments" just trying to replicate the kind of basic features DK had. Just goes to show you that a 14 year old game's technology can still make grown men cry :P

The only reason it looked like the first game was because the engine was originally built by someone making a Dungeon Keeper Remake. We have since abandon it in favour of UDK.
Photoshop I would guess, really is an amazing piece of work. :)
