Desura is not compatibale with C&C Ultimate Collection Thread - Desura

Fellow Desura users,

I've bought C&C Ultimate Collection. I've deinstalled every mod and after reboot off my computer i've re-installed the mods for Tiberium wars an Kane's Wrath. The trouble is that i can't play the mods because C&C Ultimate Collection has another launcher. So you can't play mods anymore. How can i fix this? Does anyone have the same problems and do you have a solution for me?

It would be best if you add screenshots to your gallery on the website: Indiedb.com and describe how C&C Ultimate Collection works exactly. Will try to see if new install settings need to be set up for C&C Ultimate Collection.

Allright. The first image (see my gallery) i uploaded is the screen i see when i want to play one of the mods. After double-clicking one of the mods i have to sign in to Origin and then i get the second image. Then i have to choose between tiberium wars or Kane's wrath. After i've chosen tiberium wars i only get the 'normal' game, without the mod. So i don't know what goes wrong.. Can someone fix this bug?

It seems like launching game EXE (with the mod parameter) runs the Origin launcher not the Tiberium Wars exe/game directly with the mod as add-on. O.o It may be very difficult to fix.

Can you post the installation path of C&C Tiberium Wars from C&C Ultimate Collection? Some more details where Origin installs Ultimate Collection?

This is the path where TW.exe is.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Command and Conquer 3 TW and KW\Command Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars

I hope this will give more clearity.. C&C Ultimate is always played by Origin.

So it is what i feared. Desura and regular non-Desura (user-made) shortcuts have to directly launch TW.exe without having to go through Origin launching menu. Maybe there's a workaround for this.

Will you contact EA about this? Could you tell me when you have a solution? Because now i can't play any mods, and many other C&C Ultimate Collection players...

EA responded to one of other ModDB members, Medve, that they have nothing to do with modding support: Moddb.com so we all are out of luck here.

A parameter/command to launch TW.exe without running Origin launcher would have to be found, or something similar. We need a workaround like that to make it work.

It's bad to hear that EA doesn't want to help the community...

Will you or your team look for a way to fix this bug? If not i understand it..

No time / means to do this. AFAIK nobody from the team owns the Ultimate Collection to experiment with it either, so it may be impossible to fix right now.

If you notice that someone found a workaround or EA made a fix for this, you can drop a message here and it'll be adjusted to work with this edition of C&C games.
