Power: The Neglected Fern is capable of unleashing major damage but it also slowly and jealously drains the life out of its surrounding, more lively, Plantae just to keep from crumbling.
When the going gets tough NF's crispy brown tendrils can be your savior, sacrificing its last roots of life to stop any nightmarish onslaught. Just be sure the zombies don't get in those last few bites -- or it just might finally turn against you!

Use: I would be sure to maintain plenty of sunflowers and peashooters around my NF to keep it on the side of the living. Mushrooms are counterproductive so I'd make sure those are at least a square away at all times. And remember, just a bite or two from the horde and my Neglected Fern may just join the undead - a few cherry bombs or potato mines should help keep the last vestiges of life in your NF.

Brains: I recommend removing the cortex and serving them chilled, this really brings out the cheese flavors with a distinct hint of fried okra.
