leaving only 1000 humans seems unrealistic, I would store 100 000 or a million humans to rebuild humanity... just saying... no matter, suspension of disbelief activated... awaiting further news...
Hey, upon review earlier, I have decided to change it to 10 000, but remember that cryogenics is expensive and uses a lot of energy, so storing that many people (100 000) is unrealistic.

Yes it is the future, but not that far, the tech is around 2080, the game is set in 2257, but remember that humans have been asleep for the time in between, so no technological advancement has been made.

Robots are still working, just no one is able to make new tech or at least not much of it.
