Undine is a singleplayer steampunk based underwater exploration game, which revolves around a character who lives in a world where over 99.8% of the world is covered by water due to global warming nearly 500 years ago. Undine has been compared to a mix between the video games Guns of Icarus Online and The Monster Hunter series.

Undine is an upcoming first person, steampunk based underwater exploration/adventure game. In the game, the character will be able to choose different quests to go on, with completion of certain tier level quests, will unlock higher tier levels, showing new places to explore, harder monsters, and the chance to gather materials to allow upgrading to better weapons, scuba suit pieces, ships, and ship parts.

Although the game is currently only single player, I plan to add in an AI-buddy system which will allow you to hire "guild members" to go on quests with you, who can help with repairing the ship or shoot their assigned ship weapon. I will one day implement a multiplayer, that will allow you and your friends to either crew a single ship together, or take your own individual ships.

Ships come in 3 common classes:

small, medium, and large. Small ships are typically one man pods that are perfect for explorations or taking on smaller foes, although due to their size and mobility, they can be used for hit and run tactics (most bosses do not regenerate health), but due to their size are limited on the amount of weapons, weapon power, and health they have.

Medium ships are the middle ground between ships. They have average speed, mobility, health and weapon power. Some can be managed by a single person (with some difficulty) or you can have one or two crew members assist you.

Large ships are essentially floating fortresses. What they lack in speed and mobility, they make up for in sheer weapon power and defense. But due to their large size, repairing damaged parts or trying to avoid incoming attacks will be difficult, and will most likely require a large crew to assist you.

Keep in mind that some monsters will have preferences to what they attack. For instance, sharks will often view humans and smaller ships as prey or rival "animals", but may ignore larger ships. Larger monsters may have the opposite viewpoint. They may view larger ships as potential threats but ignore small ships and humans (unless you provoke it!).

Types of Quests

Scavenging = scavenging quests are usually simple return items quests. The player usually has to scavenge for a particular item in buildings or caves, and return a set amount to the Quest Chest back at the base. These can range from simple items such as medicine, metal to harder items such as Shark skin or Kraken Teeth.

Hunting = Hunting quests are pretty self explanatory. You must hunt down either a set number of monsters or take down a specific boss monster. Some quests may require you to take on 2 or three boss monsters at a time!

Excavation = Excavation quests require the player to travel to certain key points and "excavate" several locations in order to unlock a new ship or weapon. While excavating the player must stand still and charge up a meter before that point is done. But be warned, excavation sites are often patrolled by enemy monsters and machines, as well as possible enemy nations, forcing the player to stop and defend themselves. (Don't worry, the meter doesn't go back down... at earlier tiers).

Repel: Repel Quests are similar to Hunting Quests, except instead of facing animals and machines, you will be facing a set number of ships from an enemy nation. The good news is you may have some backup helping you out! You win by either destroying or repelling the enemy ships. Keep in mind, they usually come in waves, so don't let your guard down!

I hope this helps you all out!
