That is because it is played faster than it has to be. In game the frame rate will be lower.
then the normal fall is fail :D because its too slow

But yeah, Maybe change the idle animation a bit?
Got an idea for the idle animation... You can try to slow down the animation and "amplify" it to say like that, if you understand what I mean and maybe, make him look around while it's idle?
Or try something like this Youtube.com
If you added the bones, or even if you didn't I can give it a shot to animate if you need some help...

i think the "Shotgun blast" death could also be used for a high powered rifle. anyway, they look great. (except for the "idle")
