Towncraft II is real time strategy game with Warcraft 3, AoE & Minecraft as biggest inspirations. In the game, you start out as a small village and need to develop it in order to don't get destroyed by the monsters that may show up at night. There are 5 resources in Towncraft: Food (that keeps population alive), wood (that is used to build almost everything), iron (needed to train all the military units), gold (used to buy resources) and glory (used to buy upgrades for your town). As your town level up, new buildings get unlocked, and you'll need to face tougher challenges too. There are 11 buildings to construct: houses, fences, farms, lumbermills, roads, towers, barracks, magic schools, markets, walls & mines.

Report RSS Week #2 - 60fps, map and title screen

Well, this week I worked a lot on things I can't actually show with screenshots, but I made a nice progress with the game. With new GM:S's profiling I'm figuring out all the mistakes I made when coding the game, which took some precious speed from it...

Well, this week I worked a lot on things I can't actually show with screenshots, but I made a nice progress with the game. With new GM:S's profiling I'm figuring out all the mistakes I made when coding the game, which took some precious speed from it. It encouraged me to make the game run at 60fps, which makes the collisions work better, and smoother.I've been making all the menu GUI.

Now it has a fullscreen option, and I promise I won't release any version of the game without all needed SFXs and music. :DAs you can see, you can now choose the map size and will be able to choose how many AI villages will be playing against you.

I've made some changes to map generation system and I'll probably be adding an option to choose the bioma.
