"This thinker observed that all the books, no matter how diverse they might be, are made up of the same elements: the space, the period, the comma, the twenty-two letters of the alphabet. He also alleged a fact which travelers have confirmed: In the vast Library there are no two identical books. From these two incontrovertible premises he deduced that the Library is total and that its shelves register all the possible combinations of the twenty-odd orthographical symbols (a number which, though extremely vast, is not infinite): Everything" in this game, search for clues and discover the story of your long lost family

In this article, we will talk about all the stuff we have been working on for the past few weeks and how the team is feeling about it.

Hello everyone,

We are "The Library" team, currently working on our first indie title "The Library of Babel : The Game"

LibraryLogo

This is a game about a library with all the books in the world that the player must explore to find out some secrets about his family.

This is a university project that our team of three is working on part-time and that we hope to release within the next few months.

So far we have most of the narrative figured out so would like to share some snippets of things you can find in-game if you look hard enough for it. This is one of the books that you can find in the library, there is also a sketch made by our amazing artist to help you set the scene.

Transcription of a conversation held on 1-895-67.

Subject A: I think they left us [redacted], they aren´t coming back.

Subject B: Why would they just leave us here? It doesn't make any sense! They need us to run the library. We also would have heard their footsteps if the library were still running.

A: Then what do you think happened? What could justify closing down the whole space for an entire week?

B: Maybe something happened out there. In a natural disaster, you know the library wouldn't be affected. The elements can´t get in here.

A: Then we are doomed. No one apart from the family knows where here and I don't think those assholes care about us. Let´s face it. Well just starve down here.

B: [redacted]! You gotta stop saying those things. We need to have hope.

A: Hope? Do you think hope will save us? Do you think your God will save us?

B: Stop it [redacted].

A: Stop it? How can you be so dumb [redacted]? Your God isn't real. We only have ourselves to rely on!

B: You don't mean that.

A: We are all gonna die. We both know it.

B: Maybe you are right, but there has to be a way out. Maybe we can break down the door. Let's not go down easily.

A: Let's not go down easily.

What did you think of it?

We hope you are excited for the game ahead.

Also within this post, as we have reached the midpoint of our production timeline we wanted to check in on all of our team members to get to know how they feel about the game and how the development is going

"As the game designer, I feel that the development process is going well, all the team members are collaborative and helpful and I just feel so lucky to be working with them. I had never met them before the start of this but I´m thankful I did. Babel is something I have been working on for over a year-ish and that I never thought would actually get built but seeing all the art and programming come together is a mindboggling experience. It's like a dream come true. "

"So far, I think the project is going nicely. I have been able to do everything without any significant issues and overall we didn't have any major setbacks. If we keep this up I think we might have a finished project by the end of July."

"After 2 months of work and lots of sketches, headaches and creative blockages, we've finally reached the halfway point of the project ;-; , it hasn't been easy, it took a while for the project to move forward but with everyone's work we've made it :)"
