I've taken a quick look at our statistics, and I couldn't be more proud of where we stand today. For all of the people following the development of this game, it wouldn't be possible to progress without you, but we're still far from completion and far off from actually marketing our game, believe me, there is still much more to come.
First and foremost, I have to thank Nathan, the sole developer on our team. Almost all of the content you see in the demo belongs to him, and it's only in it's rough forms, as this is the first build. He is truly remarkable at what he does, and it's important he gets credit where credit is due.
Secondly, I have to thank everyone involved. All of the people following our development from the beginning, and the people who plan to be here in the end. Our ability to progress and grow needs a community's support, for we're not making our games for us, we're in the end making them for you. Getting to play them is just an added bonus, but let's face it, when you build the game, it really doesn't have the same fear factor. ;)
Remember to tell us how we're doing, and because this is the first build, let us know what's good, and what needs to be changed. We have some ideas, but we want to hear your voice, so tell us what you think should be added. I will personally look at every single one of them.
Thirdly, I would like to thank the kind soundmakers from freesound.org for allowing us to incorporate them into the game, sounds really work to add depth and immersion to a game, and without you, that wouldn't be possible for a team as small as us. bennstir, daveincamas, Erdie, ERH, FreqMan, Glaneur de sons, Klankbeeld, Leady, orginaljun, Satoration, Sea Fury, StephenSaldanha, steveygos93, ubecareful, and a few outliers, your sounds have helped a ton.
For anyone looking for quality sounds, go check out these people. It is truly worth the visit.
Once again, thank you everyone. I can't stress enough how much it means to have progressed so much in such a short amount of time, but we aren't done yet, not even close, so stick with us, as there is DEFINITELY more to come. I have been sick, and not very able to generate additional content, but before too long, I will have our forum up and running and we will all be able to hang out in our own little place.
I highly encourage you to check out our demo now that it's up. Just head on over to the main The Key page, or check it out on our website at:
We will be launching a kickstarter soon to help make the game as successful as possible, secure our name officially, and forever be immortalized as Unknown Softworks!
Thank you all for everything, Game On!
