SYNTH is a new alternative video game for a high-end MS windows PC's. SYNTH was designed and developed by Rhys Paul Hovey. In it's current version (1.666) it has been over two years in the making. SYNTH is 100% mathematically / proceedurally generated. This means that for all of SYNTH's graphics and levels, there is a mathematical function or process from which it was made, making it a very difficult game to program, and in the end quite scalable and unusual. Typically the graphics in a video game are "modeled" by artists with mouse and pen-like touch pads. Everything in SYNTH has a mathematical / algorithmic representation.
This a real time promo screenshot of SYNTH FREEWARE v1.505, available now, free in the downloads section,. check it out,. only 24 megs,.
If you have tried SYNTH before, and it of couse did not work,. you were probably running the 32 bit version WITHOUT the /3GB,. that's all gone now, and SYNTH 64 BIT is the only version of SYNTH, and you will not run into any problems if you system specs are par.
64 BIT WINDOWS

I'm still working on a suitable descriptive to express how truly funky this project is ( or more specifically why it intrigues me so much ) ! The environmental complexities are at a level all their own. The algorithms themselves must be insane !
Yeah,. the level / environment was a very complex "level generation" stage computation,. way to complex for "real time" generation,. SYNTH does a lot of "precomputation"
Right now level generation takes around 60-90 seconds :) and generates almost 3GB of data
