"Survivor: Forgotten World" is a First-Person-Survival RPG, set in 1983 and based on Unreal Engine 3. You need to eat, drink, sleep and fight, after your advent upon unknown land. Losing all your memory from your previous life does not help you either, so you have to craft, learn and remember old and new things all again. Things, you thought were not special to have.

Welcome back Max!

We'd like to welcome back our Level designer Max, or Salesmax after his computer problems. He knows his way around designing open-ended levels, steaming and optimisation, perfect for what we need on Survivor! The game will start to look much more like a game now, with beautiful lush islands.
Here you can see a sample of his cancelled UDK game Stalker: Unreal Zone: Indiedb.com

Game progress:

Eshton has been doing some excellent work on the player model and a small custom item, the Emergency Plane Kit. He also did a splendid job with the game animations, coming up with about 5 - 6 new animations that we will show off later, but they are mainly eating items, picking up items, etc.

Martin has been working on the more essential animations such as sleeping and intro animations.

Eric, our GFX artist has been touching up the game's UI and made a new logo and banner for Rising Soul Games! The basic Interface with all the frames (without the menus) will be finished soon and ready to show.

And me? Well, I have been coding juicy new features, optimizing the code and polishing bits

Using UDK blending only, the melee combo's seamlessly fit together, as shown in the video.

I also made progress with the handling of item pickups. Instead of checking them with a socket I used the Pawn.VehicleRadius as a new pick up Radius and if it finds an "Item Class" inside the radius it checks the item name and then adds it into the inventory.

Every time the player picks up an item a custom pick up animation plays (still needs to be changed). The item gets attached to the player's hand and finally it goes into his inventory.

And heres a video showing both!

Thats all for now be sure to stay In touch for the latest news and content about survivor!
