SurviveRL (working title) is NOT another survival first person game. Read on please. It is a concept where the world persists around the player. Actions have cause and effect. Killing an enemy, helping a creature can generate an outcome much later in the game. Multiplayer and modding support are part of the building blocks to the code, making for replayability and extensibility. There will be a single player campaign/story mode also.
This is a screenshot of the terrain generator without any foliage or specific lighting effect added.
This image shows the custom built terrain generator in July 2015. Please note that there isnt any special lighting here, or any foliage or rocks around. We just want to show how the ground detail could look in the released game.
I must say it looks really good and natural!
I think even higher steep cliffs would look even more awesome!
Also I know there isn't any foliage but you should consider something similar to Skyrim , like generate small "rocks" on the ground similar to the grass but without animation.
