Introduction
The main reason this "game" was created is to test the sound system for the Construct engine. I thought it would be nice to have a crossover between Super Mario Bros and Natural Selection. The Construct scripting is fully open source, meaning the Construct source file is available alongside the exe file.

- The Mario sprites and sounds are copyright of Nintendo
- The marine speech and weapon sounds are from Unknown Worlds Entertainment's Natural Selection
I might continue the game to include more Natural Selection options, like the marine commander dropping medkits or ammo, and perhaps the new NS2 Black armor. If you plan to add stuff to the game, let me know if you want it uploaded as a version on this page :)

Scirra Construct Prototyping - Super Marine Bros
A Super Mario Brothers - Natural Selection crossover. Mainly to test Scirra Constructs soundsystem. Heh, I just wanted to try my hand at a crossover.
Mind you it is lacking a lot of things and BG sprites as well. I'm not sure if I'll continue on this. Oh you can also download and fool around in this very rough playtest version:

Movement: WASD (well AD for now)
Shooting: Right Control
Taunt: F
Jump: Space
Medkit: Q and Ammo: E (might have the comm drop it or something)
Quit/exit game: Escape
The jumping is too high, I know. Jetpack powered marine instead perhaps, he is wearing one :P

I love it. The video is great. I look forward to this game's completion (and if you're ever interested in making another side-scrolling shooter, I have a concept ye may be interested in).
My other game does take priority over this one though, but it shouldn't be too hard to fix up a Mario Bros game with a guy using a gun. Heck most of what is needed is already in there (except the HUD and world interaction, heh and of course the rest of the worlds :D)
