It is a great toy to express your creativity, but also a powerful game which require a certain level of planning. In River Town you can interact with villagers, take part in various events, populate your farm with plants and animals, cook meals and influence the town's life. In River Town you are the scriptwriter. You decide how you play - and your choices affect the whole town. It is up to you if other villagers will perceive you as a great farmer, kind person, or a selfish son of a... farm.
