Hundreds of years in the future, mankind is locked in the middle of a bloody war against an unrelenting alien empire and a malevolent inter-dimensional force. As alliances dwindle and imposing threats grow ever stronger, humanity's survival hinges upon a motley crew of wandering outlaws... aboard the Pistola, lead by the infamous Crash Lodestar. A group of drifting corsairs caught in the middle of an ever expanding conflict, they traverse the remote fringes of pirate controlled space in search of fortune and purpose. But surviving the lawless void depends on Crash's mysteriously granted powers, and the journey to understand them will determine the fate of the entire galaxy.The fundamental nature of Crash's abilities make him both a threat and an asset to galactic peace- he is too powerful to imprison and his unstable energy would rupture space and time if extinguished. But more dangerously, the power he emanates acts as a constant lure for the Moirai, an invading foe that transcends our very dimension. The solution to this quandary is a deal brokered by the Consortium- Crash is allowed to remain free and given ownership of the Pistola, but exiled to the fringes and occasionally assigned strategic black-ops missions. At a crucial point in the war, the crew is tasked with hunting down an elite agent of the Schalern Empire that only Crash can confront. Little do they know, this will set events into motion that drastically alter the course of history and cause a major rebalancing of galactic order... and so the story begins.

Pistola: Rectifier is a classically animated action RPG built around a custom, fast paced combat engine. Art and story are the core of this game - You will traverse hundreds of individually painted landscapes (every map is a unique 2D digital illustration drawn to imply 3D movement) and interact with a massive cast of characters, each one animated frame-by-frame.
