Moddb lowers the quality a bit, so sorry about that...
Also, some areas turned out too dark to see in the video, sorry about that too :P
Some parts of the video are too dark, they're not like that in-game!
Looks nice. I have a few questions however. 1. The pyramid, it's texture looks rather odd. Its too flat and without any details. Will this be changed? 2. Since the maps will not be linked together open world, will there be barriers and then doors to go the next maps? Because, it looks like now you could stand on the edge of a map in look into the game's equivient of Blue Hell. And 3. NPCs, how will they be handled, like merchants and guards? The maps have houses and such, will each be inhabited by an NPC/NPCs? Will some be purchasable by the player? Also, a day/night cycle. The engine your using seems rather symplistic, so is it possible for a day/night cycle? Anyway, good luck. I am eager to see how this project will turn out.
1. The Pyramid map is about 25-50% complete and will have a LOT more on it over time. (All the maps are not near 100% complete)
2. If you go anywhere around the edge of the map, the map in that direction will load.
3. Each npc will have it's own home. Also, hopefully I can add purchasable houses to the game (Go to an npc, purchase the key, use it to open the door). Guards won't have a home, but sleep at a barracks in each town/castle. You will be able to buy stuff from merchants in different shops, and guards will be in different places around the town (to stop you if you something bad, however I don't know what system to use for guards yet, maybe like Oblivions if possible).
I don't know about day/night cycles yet, although I don't "fully" know the potential of this engine, as it keeps getting better, so it probably is possible.
Since this isn't as persistent as many RPG's out there, (and also because Sandbox can't) there probably won't be a day/night cycle.
Cork, if you want to, you can change the gamma when recording, and it'll lighten up the area a bit. /gamma 130 works well. I had the same problem with TGC
i know it is a bit late i havent been on much. but i was watching this vid and all i wanted to do is got to my monitor and hug and cuddle it (odd i know it dont know why). it was very beautiful its good to know that the dark areas arnt that dark. i would suggest if it is possible to make torches carry-able. lovely textures on the parts that are done. agreed with pyramids need maybe better textures. however i personally would do like bricks that are built it up instead of incline.
remember very sexy i love it keep it up. for just a small work in progress i would buy this game.
