Minecraft is a first-person fighter/sandbox construction game created by Mojang AB.
We are preparing for the weekly snapshot... so let's feature creep!
Up-side-down stairs are the same block as the normal stairs, but flipped when you place them on the bottom of another (from below)
Not doing up-side-down half-slabs right now, but maybe later. Next week will be bug-fixing week for a possible 1.2 release --Jeb_

And this is a really cool feature.
Thank god!

took y'all long enough
It's about time.
1.2, come on.. I just started a new world because of 1.1:3
Mother of God.
Oh god now all we need are corner stairs and my life will be complete.
Just use a half-block for the corners. Works for me, anyway.
OT: AWESOME! I've been wanting these for a while now.
Oh, the cosmetic potential!
anyon notice the interesting leaf texture?
jungle leaves.
next up.... changing gravity? lol, for the upside-down stairs.
Ya, it is about time they did this haha. Now I can make those "support" beams on my house look nice.
Will it be possible eventually to use a stair and a up-side-down stair to make an full block?
For me, the biggest update we're 1.8.
