First of all thanks for your praise and your feedback! About your gripes: We think the walljump mechanic is very fast and makes you quite agile while platforming. I find it frustrating in games where you have to combine keys to perform a walljump. However, the downside is definitely going down in an area as you mention. We were thinking of disabling walljumps when you hold the down button. But we have to do some more tests with it. Haha the evil black roof of death! It is something we are working on in our level design! -Racemode is cool! We thought about it before, however this is something not really connected to the core gameplay. When we feel like the core game is perfect we might look at things like different modes, don't consider it likely anytime soon though. Again, thanks for your feedback and support! |

What's wrong with simply pressing the jump button (without needing to move left or right) to wall jump while sliding down a wall, as opposed to moving to the opposite direction? Players would be able to wall jump up gaps just as quickly by repeatedly tapping the jump button. New Super Mario Bros. does this to make it harder for players to unintentionally wall jump when they don't want to. Also, holding the down button to keep players from accidentally wall-jumping seems wonky, as most players, myself included, wouldn't think to do that. It's difficult for me to move left or right while I have the up or down buttons held down. (I mostly play using a keyboard, but I'd also have this problem using a controller.) |
