Land of Seylia is a tactical role-playing game with elements of empire building and resource management. You control the kingdom of Seylia as it expands from a single city, to a mighty empire spread across the procedurally-generated land. Along the way, you will recruit units, watch them hone their skills in combat, build new cities, capture enemy territory in combat, and master the art of item crafting. The battles in Land of Seylia are focused on small skirmishes, with approximately 5 units per side. The game is currently being prototyped in Javascript and HTML5, which may or may not change as development progresses.

We've made a few improvements to cities in Land of Seylia recently. First of all, cities now have proper graphics, instead of being simple colored squares. This opened up the possibility for our *other* improvement: upgradeable cities! Yes, cities can now be improved over time. For now, all you can do is upgrade it from a basic city (the wooden buildings in this image) to an advanced city (the group of 3 stone buildings in this image). This costs a fair amount of resources, but in exchange you get 3 turn the resource gain from that city every turn! One last thing that you may notice is that the enemy cities are much less clumpy than they were before. This is because we've implemented a cap on the maximum number of cities that can be built in a small region. Currently, the limit is that no hex can have more than 3 cities on its border, but we may tweak this in future.
