just because you can..right dave? xD
Preordered the second I saw it come up ;D
Awesome!
oh lá lá - this comes out good. How about some information about the full game? How many maps are there, and will there be user maps?
It seems like Biolab and London City and one or two more are in the game. Seems you also returned to the survival only. I liked the story-driven maps like The Hive better and would have loved a map like that.
However, it looks great on the slightly newer engine, and since it has zombies the game will sell anyway. Killing Floor days are over for me.
Loved many maps but have to admit the Hive was my least favorite. Too much running around and not enough enemies. It took at least 10 mins before you even reached the core and then another 5 before enemies came. My personal favorite map was Happy Hour which was the one with the bar. I liked it because you could start outside running around the front and back. Then move to the inside and slowly move up the floors as it got harder. Fun times all around :)
I also didn't like Biolab that much since everyone would just lock themselves in that one room all the time. The best maps are the ones that allow some freedom of movement while still providing some areas to fall back on. At least in my opinion but everyone likes to play differently ;)
Some others I remember liking:
West London
Suburbs
A Bargain
La Casa Muerta
Manor
Hope you guys plan on allowing mods and user created maps for the new release :)
dude, how about making your own Objectives mod? :) I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU DO IT :3
wow this is awesome! nice one
Pre-ordered yesterday!
Okay who wants to gift me this in exchange for a copy of HL2? I want KF looks amazing!
Also will there be a retail copy?
******* hot.
I love it.
Cool. Props to Alex and the Tripwire guys. :)
Was thinking of pre-ordering yesterday, will probably do so later today. Once i'm out of class anyways xD
Its dam worth it ;D
I'm damn sure of that as well :D I played the mod since its first release and loved it forever xD
Also: Just pre-ordered and I'm all set for release :D
sqwishy!
this gonna have a retail version?
OMG Awesome, I want, hopefuly i can get this one pre-ordered on time!!! :D
Excellent, but I'd really like retail as well - I don't own a credit card ;( PS - AWESOME Trailer!
Il wait till i can order it elsewhere cheaper... but looks great.
Not much cheaper than £11 mate.
lol, i just noticed that myself on Steam, saw how cheap it was. consider it pre-ordered, if only they would accept my god damn type of card!!!!
Steam does accept paypal as well :)
hehe, i also noticed that when i looked. so i setup a paypal account and kabamn, its going to be my game when its out. yeehaaa
consider it pre-ordered. was lucky enough to play an early build at GDC this year with the tripwire guys (Alan and John).
Really enjoyed it (note i'd never played the mod before)
Would I be able to purchase this game in a store, or is it exclusive to STEAM?
Red Orchestra went retail in shops, but I don't think that went too well, but they might do it again, tho
Wow, It's currently no.2 at Steam's best selling list!
Never played it for UT04 but I'm gonna pre-order!
Anyone know if this is gona be somwhat like L4D or what will the gameplay be like?
Wow this came out so FAST :)
Great news team!
Anyway, I am going to do the same crazy thing I did for Zeno Clash. I am going to wait and NOT pre-order because I want to give this team the full amount of money for this game. They deserve even more to be honest but times are tough.
For anyone who never played the amazing mod this game is based off of then I will give a quick personal opinion and rundown. It starts off with u and however many people that joined the server running around trying to find stuff before the first wave of madness comes. The enemies come in waves and each wave gets successively harder.
The game is very co-operative based so good teams will last longer. It is hard to go all out on your own for very long especially in later waves. The enemies are varied and each have different attacks, weaknesses, and speeds. The weapons are varied and headshots are critical since some enemies take many hits otherwise. Dual pistols are amazing and the reload animations are sweet. Amazing all around with creepy music and sounds as well. Really top notch example of talent so I am glad to see them getting the attention they deserve :)
Great job team, can't wait for the release, I haven't played the mod in awhile but it absorbed a good year of my life ;)
Thank you for sharing your amazing mod with us!
"I am going to wait and NOT pre-order because I want to give this team the full amount of money for this game." You my friend, are a genius.
"You my friend, are a genius."
id love to agree with you
...
but somewhat i realy dont feel like it ahahaha
(the game is with no doubts going to be very nice to play considering that 2.5 was pretty good already. the only thing that bugs me is that this is no more a mod for ut2004 and its no more free...but ill guess that ill live with that)
p.s: ah yeah i forgot.this games gets relased in steam(and i realy dont think thats going to be good, but well' see)
Thanks guys :) Your support is appreciated !
Even if you've played and enjoyed the mod I think you'll all really dig how much better it has become since then :D
i've seen the trailer, and they didn't done pretty much nothing with the game. they have done it too fast.
You mean, apart from replacing all the player models, all the monster models, all the weapons, adding new weapons, reworking some of the core mechanics, taking a lot into the native code, building out an SDK... ?
What else did I miss, Alex :) ?
Replacing most if not all environmental art and changes to maps...
completely redone sound effects ,
remastered musical score and new tracks
oh.
and more amusing biographies for player characters :P
looks different, but feels the same. they should have made a less boring trailer with new materials to impress me. and a really bad timing too, cause everybody will buy the zombie game with worst netcode ever: left 4 dead...simply cause it's valve.
Well you sound like you are just trying to find things to complain about ;)
I hope KF 'feels' the same! If they changed it too much it wouldn't be the same game. It looks like they took KF 2.5 and put it on steroids which is perfect for me. If you don't like it there are tons of other good games/mods out there so enjoy ;)
from the trailer it certainly looks like its still pretty much the same game, just retextured and with niceties like couple of new guns and modified perks.
i cant see how thats a bad thing considering the pricetag, the steam features and the shitload of work spent on the mod with no financial gain.
Pre-ordered woohoow :D
My birthday is the 17th. Guess what game i will buy..
lol...we must p2p ? loool
That a good surprise i found here !
I thinks i'm gonna buy it, its must be better than l4d especially on the gameplay, i hate these hl2 "gameplay".
Tripwire makes such great games !
I'm trying to pre-order KF using steam and i got enough cash (about 19$ USD) for the pre-order price (15$ USD).
Using paypal and all of a sudden they gave me a page to link a credit card instead, somehow thinking I'm buying a 19.99 item (price shown is 19.99 cut to 14.99 but steam is charging me full)...
