A free-roaming squad based RPG. Focusing on open-ended gameplay features rather than a linear story. Be a trader, a thief, a rebel, a mercenary, a business owner, a doctor, a bandit... the list goes on. Aid or oppose the various factions in the world while striving for the strength and wealth necessary to simply survive in the harsh desert. Purchase and upgrade your own buildings to use as safe fortified havens when things go bad, or use them to start up a business. Train your men up from puny victims to master warriors. Carry your wounded squad mates to safety and get them all home alive.

I came on a bit strong here, but only because I really like the game!

The best designs are functional first, and that's probably more-so if you're designing a setting where it's tough to survive.

Dude. Straps are function. You can but strap/belt attachments on them to hold things, first off.

How about thinking of traveling through a desert before appearing ignorant. Knives could be stored in there, guns maybe. Canteens. Cross bows. Other supplies. Loose straps of cloth. (The more cloth you have in the desert, the better. Those that wear little are usually the first to die. Fabric on your skin will hold in your sweat, which will actually cool you better than taking everything off, while protecting your skin from burns and blisters.)

Seriously.

Then perhaps #2 in the second row should add a bit more clothing, hmm?

I mean I do appreciate the female figure, but the sun is ******* hot, and there's barely any armor.

you can put*

Also, as straps aren't all connected, they can help air you out, while the fabric keeps your sweat absorbed. The reason desert people wear lots of light cloth fabric.
