Now that I have some of the base area placed I decided I wanted to do more detailed work, starting with painting the hills/cliffs to look more like hills and cliffs XD instead of giant grassy blobs coming out of the ground. It really is fascinating how something so small can make such a large difference, I felt it as I completed, for the most part, what I felt was enough detailing to give the general idea.

Level Terrain Update #3

After that I added in a few lilly pads and flowers to the water, working on a floating animation as I went, I feel this is one aspect that may need more work in the future but for now an animation should do.

Moving along I splotched a few places here and there with a different ground texture as I will be covering most of the floor with plant life, animals, bugs, items, etc., the next blog post will most likely contain a few shots showing some of that.

Putting in a fence line, a large rock structure, a couple new trees and rocks, things are starting to come together, shaping the world one step at a time. I think the plant life may take me a bit to finish up as I may get very detailed once I start XD so we shall see but here’s a shot below displaying some of that.

Level Terrain Update #2

Last but not least I added in some rocks, grass and a touch of different ground texture around the fountain, with these last few things added in I decided to call it a day, thinking and dreaming of the next things to be worked on.

So far the level design presents little issues and I doubt it will for the most part, I will be adding in sun flares and a few other nifty effects in the next update alongside the plant life appearance so look forward to that.

Until next time!
