Welcome to the International Wrestling League, the free open-source professional wrestling game for the PC! Our mission here is simple: To develop the best professional wrestling game for the PC, or any platform for that matter, of all time! Doesn’t sound so simple? Eh, you’re right. A pro wrestling game is a very complex thing, and IWL will be beyond complex to develop for sure. Why? Well, let me tell you why.. IWL will be comprised of three “big league” promotions, each with their own unique and colorful rosters, events, and fans:

AWE (Attitude Wrestling Entertainment) is a promotion based out of, you guessed it, the United States of America. This mega-brand from the northeast has been around for decades and controls the mainstream pro wrestling image in America, and most of the world. Larger than life athletes, huge egos, and an even bigger war chest of money are key in knowing why they are as well known as they are.

Ultimate Japan Pro Wrestling is Japan’s “big show.” The wrestlers of Japan are renowned worldwide for their incredible work ethic and ability in the ring. Unlike AWE which falls back heavily on backstage antics and comedy,Ultimate Japan Pro Wrestling is all about what goes on inside the squared circle. These performers and their matches are unlike anything most North American fans have ever seen; high-flying, fast paced, and “stiff.”

LLPM (la Luche Libre Profesional de Mexico) is a Mexican firestorm of action. Well known for their luchadores; colorful, masked, mysterious, and powerful warriors in the ring. The Mexican fan base is loyal, intense, and very interactive. They wear the masks of their favorite wrestlers, and they go above and beyond to make it known to the world that they have the #1 wrestlers in the world.

These will be the base promotions that make up the story arcs of IWL. But, like in the real world, there are many smaller independent promotions around the world that young wrestlers must work through to make it to one of these “big league” promotions until they get noticed and have a chance for a try out match.
