Race, joust, and play CTF on hoverbikes. No punching, kicking or weapons allowed, though. (Yes that complicates things, but don't worry. The riders can't seem to stay on their bikes anyway.)
Finally on the homestretch to finish the main forest island and its race-track. Each world/environment in Hoverbike Joust will include two tracks for racing, an arena for jousting, and a Capture the Flag course.
So.. theres a free roaming map with a race track and an arena in it? Or just one map used for both. A free roam map sounds amazing!
This looks very cool! I like the idea of having all the racing tracks and the arenas in the same place! It makes it look way more realistic! By the way, it'd be fun if you could actually free-roam and go on the water and get the the other island, maybe you could even put a race track that's partly on water!
If you wanna do the free-roam thing, you could make it that we have to drive to the start line of the tracks and press a button to start a race and same for the arenas! I'm really looking forward to this!
Just saw these comments! Took a loooong break from dev, but have come back at peak productivity. All the areas will definitely be completely open, varying in size. I will be sure to include a practice/free-roam mode in the next alpha. I've thought about starting events via trigger areas etc, but I'll likely stick with menus since there's still a need to select the number of players/bots/laps, circuit or single-race, etc.
That's fantastic! If you wanna do triggers, you could do like in GTA V, where it opens up a menu with all the settings once you've got to the trigger. Anyway, that seems very cool, this game's taking a completely new unique approach at letting the players free roam and see the actual locations on the map, which is basically non-existant in most, if not all racing games!
