Play as Jouren as you take up the mantle of a fallen knight to journey through a myriad of environments and battle hordes of twisted creatures; on a quest to stop the evil Alchemist and free his grip from your homeland! Grapple Knight is a momentum based, action platformer that pays homage to the games of the late 80's and early 90's that Red Knight Games grew up with.

When moving from one zone or stage to another we are considering the idea of playing small transitional mini-games to break up the gameplay.

The first and easiest example would be the transition from the forest level to a cave level where an auto running mini game would take place, perhaps after defeating the stage 1 boss you grab onto a ground chicken and ride it at high speed through the remainder of the forest before landing in the cave and falling off. Or perhaps you find a mine cart sitting outside a cave entrance and you hope in to go for a fast paced ride before running out of track and landing in the deepest part of the cave.

Both examples would present hazards and obstacles that you as a player would need to jump or grapple over like most other auto runners so there would still be an element of challenge involved.

What we want to know is do you think this is a good way to do a thematic transition between levels that keeps the game engaging or does it feel like a shoe horned gimmick?
