Gossipia is the ultimate trivia game – starting from your social interests, evolving and adapting as you play.

The game’s questions are based on your own interests: Sports, Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books, Events, Celebrities and many others.The objective is to correctly answer as many questions as possible to win experience points. The first player to reach 1,000 points wins the game. Questions have various degrees of difficulty, thus correctly answering a question will award you accordingly: 10 points (novice), 20 points (easy), 30 points (normal), 50 points (hard), 80 points (insane).

You can start a new game by pressing the “New Game” button on the app. You can choose to play against one of your Facebook friends or against a random opponent (matched based on common set of interests).You start by selecting your favorite category of interest and the same question (from the selected category of interest) is served for your opponent as well. If you fail to answer the question, your turn is over (the advantage of selecting the category of interest) and control of the categories of interests is passed to the opponent.

There are 6 categories of interests (a mix of common and divergent interests between the players). A category of interest can be selected only once per turn. Within the same turn, a category can be re-selected only after all other categories have been previously selected. Each time a player loses his/her advantage to select the category of interest, the turn is reset – next time the player that needs to select the category of interest he/she can select any from the 6 available categories.

After selecting the category of interest the players are presented with a 4-choice question that is based on that category. Each time the player correctly answers a question, he is awarded with the corresponding points (depending on the difficulty).

A game is over after either one of the players reaches 1,000 points, making them the winner, or a total of 20 rounds have been played. A round is completed each time both players play their turns until they answer a question incorrectly. If 20 rounds are played and neither player has reached 1,000 points, the player with the most points will be the winner. If both players have the same number of points, it’s “sudden death”: random questions are being presented (from their 6 categories of interest) until a player fails to answer correctly.

When a game’s turn is passed to the other player, the game will wait up to 24 hours for that player to play their turn. If 24 hours pass and the player didn’t play his/her turns, the game will force the player to forfeit.
