In the real world craftsman of all ages share and work together to develop new techniques. Gloria Victis enables players to work together to not only craft unique items but to sharpen their skills. You can also join or form your own crafting guild. With 10 crafting professions available you can create items that are amongst the best in the land.

i have a question, what will castle sieges be like, can guilds actually build there own custom castle to fit there needs and guard what they need to guard? will you need to go gather raw materials and make wood, stone, and metals of your choice to build your castle? will there be heavy physics in castle building and sieges so if like someone fire a cannon into the bottom of a castle wall with the top come tumbling down or if someone hit the top would pieces go flying off and hit people, will you have to rebuild your castle piece by piece until you have it like you want it again? will you have to clean up the messes from previous battles such as destroyed walls and dead bodies? could you like smelt down the broken metals and form new metals that can be used for anything again? sorry its a lot to ask in one comment but all of this is something that i have been wandering for a while and it sounds like an amazing idea to me, please respond or personal message me :D

Hello,
Thanks for so many questions. Lets start answering them!
Guild are able to create their custom castle and to get guards as a upgrade of the castles.
They will need to use raw materials to build castles, and every other buildings. They will be gathered by clan members, or bought from other people, if someone would prefer to loot and burn to gain money to buy it instead of cutting wood ;)

Of course there will be siege weapons and destroying parts of walls and buildings and it is made with system imitating phisics.

After the battle you will have to rebuild your castle, but the rebuiling itself is going to be cheaper and easier than building a new one. Otherwise players would be harrasing each other all the time and it could lead into some bad situations. But that's something which gameplay developers have to deal with.

You will be able to use broken metals to smelt them once again, of course a player who will be mastercraft metalurgist will do it best!

how much emphasis are you putting on physics? like how much will it affect game play, such has having to build on flat ground for a more stable castle/house or knocking down walls instead of just trying to destroy them and such. can you give me a basis because i think heavy implemented physics are the best :D

Of course there will be some obstructions on making castles on some places, just to not let players abuse it and make unbeatable castles.
I don't really think we will make a dependences of ground levels affecting stability of the walls.

Just remember please, that we are Indie studio, and MMO is the biggest project you could even done.
And so it means our main goal is to make a great game, which will target exacly nitche and if we can do this than it will let us create more and more great systems.
We just don't want to promise things that are possible to do only by creating game for next 5 years until even hitting beta ;)

Quick question from an old Ultima Online player, and player of lots of modern MMOs.

Houses are only bought, bought and finished with materials, or built from scratch?
