Description
GearBlocks pre-alpha demo - build 0.3.5834. This update brings some changes to the construction controls, including the ability to clone individual parts. Also, there are now additional ways to attach axles to blocks and gears. See the release notes for more details on these changes. To install, unpack .rar file into any folder. See Readme.txt for keyboard / mouse controls and release notes.

Hello!
Gotta say i enjoy your game! however i have trouble getting the gears to work, my gears won't light up yellow as displayed in the toturials on youtube, and allthough they seem to connect the transmission from one gar to another just wont work. Am I missing somthing or?
Thanks! Not sure why you're not able to get the gears to work, or what you mean by lighting up yellow? Maybe post up somewhere a screenshot or a save file of your construction and I can take a look if you like!
hi again! yes, in the youtube toturial the gears became yellow as they "stuck toghter", that doesn't happen when I build stuff. However when i tried som more the gears seemed to work. But only when the axle was all the way through the engine. Does the axle have to be attatched to all 4 "dots" in the engine for it to work? If it is so maybe not attatching the axle all the way thru the engine has been my problem?
No, you shouldn't need to position the axle all the way through the motor for it to work.

You should be able to download the rar file here, that not working for you? Once downloaded, you need to use winrar, winzip or similar to unpack the rar file into a folder somewhere on your hard drive.
Just love your game too much man.. If I may suggest then could you include tank tracks and drive sprockets ? (Hope this is not a lame question.)
Thanks, and not a lame question at all! Tank tracks and sprockets would be cool I agree, but they're far down on my (very long) to do list unfortunately. People have built their own out of parts in the game already, you could maybe try that!
why its dowlanding just the notebook and inside of it there is just the weird sembols
Do you need a beefy computer for this game?
Depends a lot on the complexity of the constructions you build, but yeah you'll want a decent PC, CPU in particular. The main limiting factor is physics performance which is CPU dependent.

pls add flying and building platform.. i built something for 2 hours and then after i unfroze it it threw me away a kilometer or so into the water.. impossible to get there anymore
also how about resizeable linear gears. or inside gears for planetary gearboxes.
Yeah, there are some annoying collision bugs with the character controller that can throw you across the map, I'm planning on replacing the existing character controller code with something much better, which should address this.
Resizable rack gears aren't really practical because the ratio of tooth size to unit length has to give an integer number of teeth. The rack gear is 7 units long, and (without changing the size of the teeth) I could only resize it to 14, 21, etc. units long.
Inside gears should be possible, I'll add them to my list!
