If you own any territory(settlements, mines, factories...), your enemies will sometimes try to attack it and you are in charge of defending it. You will receive a warning before the attack so you will have plenty of time to prepare. You can hire local security personnel and construct defensive structures to help defend. If you don’t show up when enemy attacks, the local security forces will defend the territory by themselves. If you know where the enemy forces are coming from, you can also intercept them before they reach your territory.
