------------------------------------------------------------------------
Freedoom in Doom is a mod for Doom that uses resources from the Freedoom
project so they can be played in the official Doom IWADs. The mod is
intended to be compatible with most supported Doom source ports, from
Chocolate Doom all the way to GZDoom.
Whenever a new release of Freedoom comes, a new release of this mod can
be expected. The newest version of the mod will use the graphics,
sounds, and sprites that are being used in the latest officially
released version of Freedoom. The main mod file is primarily made with
Doom II: Hell on Earth in mind, so patch files are provided for The
Ultimate Doom, The Plutonia Experiment, and TNT: Evilution. The patch
files are to correct textures errors and potential game crashes that can
occur as there are numerous differences with the texture definitions in
each of the games.
A DeHackEd is embedded in the main mod file so messages and text do not
incorrectly name any of Freedoom's resources, such as monsters and weapons.
The DeHackEd file is also available as an external file for source ports
that may not read the DeHackEd file embedded in the WAD file. For the
latest news and releases of the Freedoom project, you can visit the
Freedoom website. Links to the GitHub repository and other pages should
be available.

Updates:
Update 1 - Fix oversights with texture definitions for FDP_0121.wad and
FDT_0121.wad files. They should be in the correct order now.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Files:
1) FDDM0121.wad - Main mod file. Includes Freedoom's graphics, sprites,
and game sounds. Includes the texture definitions from
Freedoom: Phase 2, which should share the same texture
definitions as Doom II. Made primarily for DOOM2.WAD.
2) FDDM0121.deh - External DeHackEd file with messages and text. Can be
used for source ports that don't load embedded DeHackEd
files such as Chocolate Doom. This does not need to be
loaded for source ports such as ZDoom and PrBoom+.
3) FD1_0121.wad - Patch file for The Ultimate Doom. Includes the texture
definitions from Freedoom: Phase 1, which should share
the same texture definitions as The Ultimate Doom. Use
this for DOOM.WAD.
4) FDP_0121.wad - Patch file for The Plutonia Experiment. It includes
modified texture definitions from Freedoom: Phase 2.
The texture definitions should correct texture errors
and potential crashes when playing with PLUTONIA.WAD.
5) FDT_0121.wad - Patch file for TNT: Evilution. It includes modified
texture definitions from Freedoom: Phase 2. The texture
definitions should correct texture errors and potential
crashes when playing with TNT.WAD.

The COPYING.txt and CREDITS.txt files from the Freedoom project are
and should be included in this download.
This mod is mainly intended to be played with the official Doom IWADs.
If you want to play custom PWADs with this mod, I highly recommend
using the Freedoom IWADs instead. The Freedoom IWADs can be downloaded
from the official Freedoom website. You may download an autobuild of
Freedoom from the website below if you're interested in playing with
the latest changes.

GZDoom licenses are included in this download as the decaldef.z lump
from game_support.pk3 and the gldefs.txt lump from lights.pk3 are used.
The two files are from GZDoom 4.4.2. The lumps are modified so other
ZDoom ports such as Zandronum can play the mod. You can visit the ZDoom
website to see any news, download links, and changes on GZDoom.
