Excitement! Today we are finally ready to show off our module destruction effects and a new ship: The Jonk!

As you can see in the video above, all weapons and propulsion modules on ships are now destructible - the visual effects and the hp of the modules still need tweaking but this is a good start.

We also have a new ship to show today: The Jonk.

New Ship: The Jonk

This is a much smaller hull than the others that are currently in the game and will probably be one of the easier ships to get in the game. It's also the first ship with forward mounted weapons in the game.

Looking good! Maybe some predefined holes in ships can be made for based on the hull's life? Aka 75% Hp there are two holes in the ship, 50% there are four holes, etc, etc. Looking good, keep up the great work!

We have stuff like that in the pipeline :) Making the hulls break apart as they sink, make the modules that are destroyed break into more pieces ect. - we will have more of that sort of stuff before the game launches.

I hope that small fast shooting ships don't get to the OP State, just because they can wipe out weapons on your deck, i believe that it would be better if the weapons blow up only if the gun gets hit by a cannon or a missile.

Right now the HP on the modules is set solely for showing the effect on video - it will be more difficult to destroy modules when playing.

I don't think there is any risk of the Jonk being overpowered unless we implement fleets - it just doesn't have the firepower to threaten the other ships in the game atm.
