Food Frenzy - Online Match 3 Battle iOS, iPad game

During online play (referred to in Food Frenzy as Eat Off mode), players compete in up to five 30 second rounds where they try to make matches of three or more food in a row. Matching additional food before the board has come to a rest will multiply the players score. But watch out, sliding a piece that doesn't result in a match will reduce the player's skill bonus at the end of each round. To help the player out, special power items occasionally become available, including the bomb which blasts all the surrounding food, and the magnifying glass which points out all the matches on the board. Making matches larger than three will improve the chance for special items to appear.

Setting Food Frenzy apart from similar match three games is the completely balanced online battle system. Other games start players off with the same set of blocks, but each player then plays an independent game, sometimes favoring one player over the other. These unfair matches were the impetus for creating Food Frenzy, where the exact same game is played by opposing sides. One's skill alone determines victory or defeat.

Players can also take a break from the competitive Eat Offs and enjoy the more relaxed solo challenges referred to as Buffet mode. The Buffet comes in three sizes: Super Size, Normal Size and Snack Size. In Snack Size, the player starts out trying to match at least three of each type of food. As the match goal is met, a new level starts with the match goal increased by one of each food type. The game ends after the 60 second timer runs out. Normal Size offers the same matching rules, but with each successive level, the timer is reset. In Super Size, the goal is to match 100 of any food type to clear the level and reset the timer which gets progressively shorter.
