Pytheas is a galactic exploration, vehicle based, construction game. It has been in development since December 2010. A fleet from Earth's Exploratory Force has gone missing; you are sent to find it. After finding the aptly named ship, Pytheas, you could return to earth, report the find, and let a collection of search and rescue efforts do the rest. However, realizing that is boring, you decide to scour the nearby star systems with your brand new, eerily empty inter-stellar mammoth. Pytheas gives players the tools to execute thier ideas without the limitations of a game engine designed with a different purpose in mind. Barriers that limit how you can play are removed to allow for more freedom.
The multiplayer alpha demonstration has been released! This release features two simple maps that will help test a wide variety of the game's features in networked play. Both maps are using the "War Mode" game mode. This mode is team oriented and requires completion of map-specific objectives. The first map is a small naval battle with two opposing teams. The second, is a medium size island with several bases for you to experiment with various vehicle types and objective completion.
This initial alpha will remain free while I work out the major bugs players encounter. I will release bug fix patches during this stage.
Better construction tools are in the works. In the current release, you can use the basic system by pressing the RELOAD key (defaulted to middle mouse) while any place-able object/material is selected.
Hosting a game will require additional steps to forward port 16114 until an NAT punch-through server can be established. Additional Info
*I frequently make changes to core engine features, so I apologize in advance for the inevitable bugs you encounter. I will work quickly to repair any issues the we may find.

HELP! When I load the file it goes to a black screen then it says 'DVSandBox.exe has stopped working'. How do I resolve this problem?
Same exact thing here, tried re-downloading and everything. Nothing worked!
Fantastic game here. Huge potential as well. I think the kickstarter failed because not enough people know about it. I'm still figuring out how to open doors (possible?) but already see how fun it can be. It just needs more people playing it! Also, its nice to see a non-unity game for once. Got nothing against unity, I love the thing, but kudos to someone who made there own engine. Is this C++ OGRE? I presume so.
THIS CRASHES SO MUCH

I'm almost crying! This is the best game EVER! Wanted a game where you can create everything you want? Checked. Wanted a game where you can use every vehicle you see? Checked. Wanted a game where you can fight or just play around? Checked. Wanted a game where you can create everything you want and turn it into a vehicle to play around and fight?? CHECKED! I have to do a sheep sacrifice right now to support the kickstarter D:<
minecraft /space engines/from the depths/starmade?
Mmm... In a sheep sacrifice, are we allowed to eat the sheep afterwards?
Thanks for the feedback, I see we have similar taste in games! Spread the word; if the kickstarter succeeds, it will be much easier to get the game going!
