The Old God has left the world and the pretenders are awakening and coming out from hiding. You start the game by designing one of the pretender gods that will compete for true ascension to godhood. The type of god can range from a magically powerful arch mage to an ancient kraken or a mystic monolith that people pray to. Your pretender controls one of over sixty different nations and with the help of that nation he will spread his word and battle the other pretenders. Dominions 3 is a turn based strategy game. You can play single- or multiplayer (1 - 23 players) with simultaneous turns. There are more than 1500 different units, 600 spells and 300 magic items in the game. The game also features a medieval musical score by Erik Ask Uppmark and Anna Rynefors, both awarded the title of Musicians of the Realm by the Swedish Zornmärkeskommiten. Dominions 3 is a highly detailed game and a 300 page pdf manual is included in the download.

General Game Information
Name of the Game - BunnyHammer- Ok, its after Easter, but still close enough. This is a Warhammer Mod nation only game! Come square off against the foul legions of Chaos, the unyielding Dwarves, the honorable Dead of Nehekhara

Network or PBEM - Llamaserver PBEM
Hosting Schedule - Relaxed generous delays schedule, 24 hours per turn until more is needed.
Number of Players - 6
Skill level - Any (Game meant for fun)
Expected Commitment Level - Medium to Low. I hope everyone avoids staling, going AWOL, and the like. But I don't necessarily expect full-on 100% commitment/competition. Going AI without my permission is completely forbidden, however.
Age - Middle (as the Warhammer Nations are all middle age)

Game Settings
Independent Strength -Default (5)
Research -Default (Normal)
Magic Sites -Default (40 for middle era)
Money -Default (100)
Resources -Default (100)
Supplies -Default (100)
Random Events -Default (Common)
Score Graphs -On
Hall Of Fame - 15
Re-Naming - On
(Note the above can also be covered with "All settings default", followed as necessary by a list of any settings that are not default)

Nation Selection - Only Warhammer Mod nations. Nations signed in for this one are:

Dwarves
Itza
Ogres
Skaven
Tomb Kings
Wood Elves

Map -Tears of Heaven

Mods - BunnyHammerCombo (This combines the .dm files for CBM1.94 and all our nations. You still need to download the original mod for the sprites, as they are not packed in here, so DL Skaven, Wood Elves, Itza, Tomb Kings, Dwarves, and Ogres from the above links)

Victory Conditions - Hold 4 caps for 3 turns, or unanimous concession. Highlander style though- No joint victories.
Diplomacy - General Machiavellian diplomacy. Trades of gems, items, and gold for gems, items or gold are binding. I'd like to see, but have no method to enforce, some "theme-ness" to the diplomacy (ex. An Altdorf-Skaven alliance would be beyond weird. Or Itza-Chaos. Etc.) But, obviously, nations will turn on each other as the game goes on. But good working with evil just doesn't feel right. At least give it some thought in game.

General Rules - General MP rules for the forum

And importantly- THIS GAME MAY BE HIDEOUSLY UNBALANCED. Observing, noting, and politely discussing your observations on the mod thread for the appropriate mod is fine. Being a douche, whiner, crybaby, or other pejorative term about it is not ok, and will not be tolerated.

Disallowed Exploits (Copied from Calahan) -
1. Copying the script orders from Bogus and his friends to others commanders (ie. The 'Fire Commanders' orders).
2. Overloading other players labs by sending them lots of items they did not request. Be they worthless or valuable.
3. Intentionally exploiting the fort lock-down bug with freespawn commanders or items. (contact the admin if someone is using this!)
4. No using keyboard shortcut commands to issue orders that are not available via the orders menu. This includes Blood Hunting underwater. Patrolling with immobile units. Breaking siege with immobile units. Patrolling to break siege (unless it's to workaround the fort locking bug. Please contact the admin!). Site Searching while besieging or whilst being besieged. And any other such exploitative keyboard shortcut that I am either unaware of, or can not currently recall. There are to be no exceptions to this rule without my permission, and I am only ever likely to give my permission in situations where using a keyboard shortcut is needed to counter an exploit.
5. Exploiting obvious mod bugs. If you find something which is obviously wrong or looks wrong then you have a duty to report it, and not exploit the bug until the admin makes a decision on it.
6. No move-blocking by probing enemy armies with lone commanders. If you want to probe an enemy army then hide a Scout in that province and use the "Attack Current Province" command, as that runs no risk of blocking enemy movement. Any player that uses move-blocking is in immediate violation of the next rule.
7. Being a general douche bag is not allowed in this game. This is probably the most important rule of the game, and if you break it then you can expect to be kicked out.

Itza please.

I've played Warhammer Fantasy, I've played Dominions, but not yet mixed the two. As such I'd like to have over the weekend for testing.

OGRES SMASH.

Apr 4 2013 Anchor

NERDS!

You're in Ocho. Kinda hope I end up jumping in now, so I can knock you down a peg.

Apr 4 2013 Anchor

I'm in. Leaning towards Wood Elves again so I can recreate my mid-game stall in SpookyHammer, or Sylvania.

Feck it. Sylvania.

Apr 4 2013 Anchor

I wouldn't mind grabbing a spot. Now when TurkeyRAND is done I can fit in another game.

As Senor already grabbed ogres put me on nation TBD. >_>

Apr 4 2013 Anchor

Well shit. Now I gotta play. I wait till the end to pick, so I can semi sorta balance out the good and evil sides.

Alright, so I heard back from Deathjester. The High Elves need a touch more love before they are ready for prime time. So, if we haven't launched by the time they are ready, they are a valid selection. Or if someone really wants them, we can wait for their arrival.

.

Oh and @Oscarius- If you roll with a non-evil nation (Elves, Altdorf, Dwarves, Brettonia) we are pretty much guaranteed a nice 3 non-evil/3 evil game, unless someone does a last minute switcheroo. But pick what ever makes you happy. I'll count as two nations anyways, since I am clearly a warhammer mod game pro. Being the first one out in Spookyhammer and all.

Apr 5 2013 Anchor

I mentioned it on the IRC (though you may have missed it) but I'm fine with going with Bretonnia.
Everyone shalt taste derpy steel!

Apr 5 2013 Anchor

I'm fine jumping back to WoodElves. In fact, can I do that? Or does that screw everyone else over?

Apr 5 2013 Anchor

If you want to do that I could swap to an evil nation (leaving it open for our last unkown player if he/she/it wants to go evil or good).

In that case I'll go back to my first ratty WH love. :3

First off, despite my wishes, everyone should pick the nation they most want. If that means we aren't balanced between good and evil, so be it. It's not a team game, there aren't joint victories here, so balanced "teams" aren't really teams to begin with.

Secondly, my side goal here is to try out the High Elves in MP, as they just rolled off the presses. If the wait for the latest and greatest version starts to stretch too long, then oh well.

So, I'll put datom back to Wood Elves. Oscarderp, I'll give you Skaven, but if you want Brettonnia, there's no shame in sticking with them.

Also, if we don't get a sixth today, I'll go on a recruitment drive. If anyone wants to invite a player, feel free too!

Apr 5 2013 Anchor

Oh, I don't really have a preference ('cept the ogres. SENOOOOR!).
I'd like to test out both. As it just so happens one is evil and one is good. I might as well go with whatever fits. :)

Apr 5 2013 Anchor

Hum, I have a few games wrapping up now or soon so why not. Nehekhara.

Apr 5 2013 Anchor

Awesome! We full!

Alright, so mek wanted the weekend to test, and I am also curious to see if Deathjester gets the High Elves wrapped up (as I will pick them if thats the case). So, I'll close recruitment now, and likely post the game early next week, Monday or Tuesday depending on RL and all. Get testing those pretenders and strats.

.

Oh, and I'll roll out a combo mod of everyone's nation (the most recent versions, usually in the OP of the links I provided) and CBM 1.94.

So please be sure to test your nation with your nation mod enabled (obviously) and CBM 1.94.

.

Heh. So Wood Elves and High Elves share the same nation ID. This can be worked around, I think, but I'll need to look into it.

Apr 5 2013 Anchor

Is it too late to join in with Chaos undivided?

Apr 5 2013 Anchor

Yeah, sorry. We picked up 6, which is the max I wanted to go up to.

. (I hate how this forum rolls your posts in to one... how's a poor admin supposed to get the attention he so rightly deserves?!?)

@Players- Regarding maps, we have two options- we can just go with random game defined starts (I can edit out anything truly awful, like islands, single/double connection provinces), or we can set starts. The problem with set starts is that I will have to publish the list, cuz it would be highly unfair if I alone knew the starting locations. Set starts would be more balanced, but open up the potential for an early cap rush. Any thoughts, folks?

Asking someone to randomly post a "bump" is the best solution I've found.

Why not ask someone to put in the fixed starts? (someone not in the game :) )

Well, because its a bit of frustrating task, and I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so I'd like it done just so, and well, that's not really fair to ask of other people.

Not the least because they'd have good reason to come and ask me to do the same... and setting starts is my least favorite part of admin work. Has to be done, but boy do I dislike doing it!

lol I get what you mean man :D

I recently balanced a 6 player map (Tears of Heaven, 94+15, elmokki) for a game (Holy Mages mod test) on Dom3mods. So you are of course more than welcome to use that if you wish (I don't see any players in this game that are in that one. So the starts will be hidden).

It might be a little on the big side though. That was intentional in my game as I wanted to give players a chance to recruit a fair number of Holy Mages to test the mod out properly.

I was going to say this one is probably a touch too big, but looking back, SpookyHammer was on streamlands, which is about be same size. So I'll probably use this one.

Thanks for the assist, Calahan. Pretty soon I'll owe you a map or something.

.

Oh forgot to add, Streamlands felt about the right size for the atmosphere of a 6 player games. Lower potential for an early knife fight, which is sad, but most folk got to at least play with their mid game stuff, which is nice in all mod nation game (and good for further testing/comments).
