Deep Space Settlement is a 4X real-time strategy game focused on empire building and grand-scale space battle.
Check HD view for animation. You can add a spine root to the cruiser core that allows for 2 smaller spines, as opposed to a single bigger one. Some spine elements like the cylindrical one can be used on both big and small spines. There are also asymetric spine elements that can only be used on dual spines.
Definitely a interesting feature but it gives me pause to question, will this dual spine option come with a bonus to gameplay but at the same time taking a penalty as well?
For example, due to it's overall size and complexity it's mass is causing it to move 20% slower, but as the bonus it has the higher percentage of accuracy with point-defence weaponry?
(simply put what lack in some area it makes up for in another)
We haven't done very much in terms of balancing the cruiser parts yet, but you can be sure that parts will have advantages and disadvantages.
